One Way

This is in Montreal again, my home town.  I chose to paint "One Way" for several different reasons.  

Brick is always a big draw for me.  The side of this brick building had a set-in arch detail that was pretty unique.  This used to be an upholsterer's shop, now used for a more hip interior design business.  

Another reason I chose this spot is that it's indeed a one-way street, so there's much less traffic to contend with as I sat across the street to paint it.  I love the funky colors that are sometimes paired with stately brick facades in Montreal.  It's not unusual to see a pairing such as this marsala-toned paint with a black (to the right of the brick building).
