Out of The Good Earth
This painting was the outcome of listening to "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck on audio. Even though it's a scene from the Lowcountry around Charleston, the effect is very oriental in feeling (even though that was not a conscious decision on my part). It was the first of a series that I did, and I named this one in homage to "The Good Earth". It's very special to me since it altered my way of thinking about how I approach my painting now.Watercolor on Yupo PaperFramed approx. 35 x 48
